I’m thrilled to announce immersionED’s revolutionary new learning solution: AI-Driven “Pick Your Path” Learning Simulations! These adaptive learning simulations (patent-pending) place you in immersive scenarios and use gen-AI so your decisions shift the narrative and receive live feedback. This new type of learning experience represents a major breakthrough in education as we can now imitate the decision-making required in your career and life more broadly and provide immediate guidance on how to grow.

Following our broad launch this past fall with 4,000+ schools signing up, I took some time to reflect on feedback on our previous learning video games such as The Boston Massacre.
Since launching immersionED to 4,000+ teachers, we’ve seen incredible engagement with games like The Boston Massacre:
- 90 NPS (Net Promoter Score)
- 72% increase in student engagement
- 54% boost in critical thinking development
But one piece of feedback kept coming up:
“If only your games covered all of history and adapted to each student’s learning journey.”
Candidly, this wasn’t possible with our previous learning video games. Video games are expensive and time consuming to build and the more you personalize the experience and allow it to adapt to the user the more cost and development time go up.
As I reflected on this over the winter break, I realized that we’d been deemed a nice-to-have. At the same time I’d recently met the creator of the It’s Up To You history books where you assume the role of historical figures and make decisions. I’d also begun delving deeply into the capabilities of newer AI models such as ChatGPT 4o.
This combination of experiences sparked a question in my mind: what if you could combine the ever-evolving capabilities of gen-AI with the adaptive narrative format to create fully personalized learning simulations where you are placed in immersive scenarios, make decisions, receive live feedback, and the narrative shifts accordingly?
So I got to work building. I started by playing around with a custom GPT, moved to API Assistants, and ultimately created a web app that draws on a patent-pending structure that relies on a multitude of AI models and thousands of pre-created documents. Considering my passion for history and our previous work and established distribution, we started with US history and created 70 episodes that have 4 playable characters each and plan to create similar simulations for other subjects in K-12 and workforce.

Now we’re about ready to launch to our network of ~5k teachers with the beta release of our “Pick Your Path” History Adventures expected in April 2025.
Our new Pick Your Path History Adventures use a patent-pending AI-driven structure, powered by:
- Multiple AI models working together
- Thousands of pre-vetted historical documents for accuracy
Early teacher feedback on our 70 playable history episodes (each with four character perspectives) has been overwhelmingly positive, and we can’t wait to share it with you!

Important Update: The Boston Massacre Game Will Be Retired in Mid-April
As we prepare for the next generation of immersive history learning, we will be sunsetting The Boston Massacre game in mid-April. If your students have enjoyed it, we encourage you to use it before it’s gone!
